The ChurchDex Foundational Statement

Rooted in Historic Christianity. Committed to Biblical Clarity.

At ChurchDex, doctrine is not a formality — it is a foundation. Our Foundational Statement exists to provide clarity, unity, and trust. In a time when theological confusion is common and denominational labels can be misleading, we believe churches and believers deserve transparency grounded in Scripture.ChurchDex stands firmly within historic, orthodox Christianity. Our beliefs are not novel. They are rooted in the timeless truths confessed by the global Church for centuries. This statement defines who we are, what we affirm, and why it matters.

The Authority of Scripture

We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God.Scripture is not merely helpful guidance — it is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16–17). It reveals who God is, who we are, and how salvation is accomplished through Jesus Christ.Every doctrine we affirm flows from Scripture.Without a trustworthy Bible, there is no trustworthy theology.

The Trinity — One God in Three Persons

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three distinct Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).

God the Father

Sovereign Creator and sustainer of all things. Holy, just, and merciful.
He rules over history and sent the Son for our redemption (John 3:16).
All things exist through Him and for His glory.

Jesus Christ

Fully God and fully man.
Eternally existing — not created (John 1:1–3).
Born of a virgin.
Lived a sinless life.
Died a substitutionary death for sinners.
Rose bodily from the grave.
Ascended and now reigns.
Will return visibly and victoriously.Salvation is found in no one else (Acts 4:12).

The Holy Spirit

Fully God and actively at work today.
He convicts of sin, regenerates hearts, indwells believers, sanctifies them, empowers for service, distributes spiritual gifts, and seals believers as the guarantee of our inheritance (Ephesians 1:13–14).The Trinity is not theological abstraction — it is the heartbeat of Christian faith.

Humanity and Sin

We believe humanity was created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27).Yet through sin, all people are separated from God (Romans 3:23).
Humanity is not morally neutral; we are spiritually fallen and unable to save ourselves. This reality makes the gospel necessary — not optional.

Salvation by Grace Alone

We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8–9).It is not earned by works, religious effort, or moral improvement.
It is the free gift of God purchased by the finished work of Jesus Christ.Through repentance and faith, sinners are justified, adopted, and reconciled to God.The gospel is central — not peripheral.

The Church

We believe the Church is the body of Christ, composed of all true believers (1 Corinthians 12:27).Local churches exist to:

  • Proclaim the gospel
  • Make disciples
  • Administer baptism and the Lord’s Supper
  • Equip the saints
  • Advance God’s kingdom

Church leadership is called to shepherd faithfully, teach sound doctrine, and guard the truth (Titus 1:9).The Church is not a building or brand — it is a redeemed people.
