Pleasant Baptist has grown from five original members to a congregation of over 1,000 and has had only three pastors, with Terry D. Streeter leading since 1989. Under Pastor Streeter—who has preached internationally and is featured in the church’s broadcasts—the church maintains robust media outreach, including live and archived services, radio and TV listings across DC/MD/VA/NC, the "View from the Mount" segments, and a live Sunday broadcast at 9:00 AM, with sermon media available in MP3, MP4, CD, and DVD. Visitors can access online service order forms for 7:45 AM, 10:45 AM and Mid-Week worship, join Mid-Week Manna on Zoom, submit prayer requests via an “I NEED PRAYER” portal, and use online giving and new member forms. The church also supports community outreach—such as the Robert Anderson Scholarship Ministry (organized 1967), an eight-week Summer Day Camp, an active transportation ministry, and Mt. Pleasant Global outreach—maintains regular office hours at 215 Rhode Island Avenue NW, and offers active social channels and a women’s ministry (WOMP) for additional connection.
