• Summary:Christ Our Shepherd holds live in-person worship (with a simultaneous livestream) every Sunday at 10:00 AM and shapes worship around a participatory, New Testament house‑church pattern organized primarily as a network of weekly home groups (4–12 people) that meet in-person, hybrid, or fully online. Founded out of a large home group with its first pastor called in 1987, the congregation gathers in a historic 1890s stone Romanesque church in Capitol Hill purchased in 1998, giving the community a long-standing, intimate feel. Children's and youth ministries include nursery care every Sunday, K–5 Sunday School on the 2nd and 4th Sundays, youth home groups, monthly Youth Church, quads, service projects and domestic and international mission trips (Benin), while men's and women's ministries offer regular breakfasts, retreats and seasonal events (including Communion on the 1st Sunday and Donuts & Discipleship on the 3rd Sunday). The church also provides focused healing ministries (inner, spiritual, physical healing and deliverance) for committed members and trains other DC churches, maintains sermon and teaching archives on YouTube, offers prayer resources such as the Just Asking prayer book and Lenten guides, posts an events calendar and policy PDFs online, and accepts online giving via Church Center; the main office is at 801 North Carolina Ave. SE.
